web design and development for the 21st century
about us
•
Phenomenists Internet Agency was founded in 2000 to meet a growing demand for cost-effective and reactive internet services, primarily for local small and medium sized businesses. It quickly became apparent that those same service qualities were sought by larger national organisations to enable them to take advantage of the rapidly developing possibilities available to them via the internet, helping them to
extend their business online.
Today, Phenomenists provide web services to LexisNexis (Butterworth Tolley - part of the Reed Elsevier group) assisting their legal, payroll and tax training operations with web-based solutions.
Online training and continual professional development services are in high demand, as are self management web systems.
Our diverse client base includes online applications for the British Arabic Language Institute based in Sanaa, Yemen, Welsh architects,
NFU Mutual Insurance, Alcohol Concern, lifestyle websites and many more. Our farthest flung client is based in Denver, Colorado, closely followed by another in Dallas, Texas, USA...yee haah!
We remain a stable, efficient and compact ISP which means we can give you some of the
most competitive prices around... site design, development, e-learning and CPD systems, advanced graphics and animation, web hosting, email, technical support and CD-ROM services all in house.

Meet the team...
Simon Thew
Simon founded Phenomenists in 2000, following 4 years employed by a Somerset ISP and Business Computer service company. He joined forces with his former Technical Director, Dick Read, the following year. Responsible for the day to day running of the company front-end, he will probably be your first point of contact should you call us.
John Goodinson
John has over 20 years experience across many graphical disciplines, including the creation of house styles for leisure magazines, advertising campaigns for IT telecom systems, brochures for sales promotions and exhibition graphics. He has produced TV and film title sequences for Ridley Scott (Legend) Mike Figgis (Leaving Las Vegas), as well as Ken Russell, Alan Parker, and many influential directors and producers - John is responsible for satisfying our more demanding graphically-oriented clientele!
Dick Read
Dick is our server administrator and responsible for the smooth running of our server network located in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Phenomenists were fortunate enough to acquire Dick's expertise in 2002. His skillset is too extensive to list here ... but to give you an idea, it straddles HTML, XML, ASP.NET, PHP, VBScript, Visual Basic, Access, MYSQL, Perl and Cribbage.
Tim Cook
Tim has worked in the IT industry since 1995, initially employed as a data analyst with a national hospitality supply company. Since 1999 he has carried out contract work within the pharmaceutical, financial and retail sectors. Tim's skills include database design (MySQL and Access), application programming (Visual Basic) and mainframe operations (IBM AS/400). Tim joined our team in 2003.
